R.I.P. Andy Griffith

This is from the cover of a book about The Andy Griffith Show. Look at the boots. More importantly, look at the socks, the long, black socks. Almost definitely over-the-calf. Imagine the heat and sweat built up in those boots over the day as Sheriff Taylor laid down the law, kindly but firmly. Imagine when those boots came off during a humid North Carolina evening, so he could air out his dogs. Could he make Aunt Bea's parlor smell like a locker room?

There's plenty of footsweat for the both of you. Suck my toes, chew out my socks too, they're mighty juicy after I've been on my feet all day."
