I saw an ad this morning for the Vaseline Healing Project,
In partnership with Direct Relief, The Vaseline® Healing Project is an aid effort to provide dermatological care, Vaseline® Jelly & medical supplies needed to help heal the skin of people affected by poverty or emergencies around the world.
Why do we do this?
While issues such as lack of food, water and shelter are the first to be addressed in emergencies, skin conditions, especially when left untreated, can lead to greater problems. Since first patented in 1865, Vaseline® Jelly has been used to help protect skin, so the brand felt they had a unique role to play in helping others. After all, Vaseline® Jelly has been used by oil riggers, polar explorers, and doctors and soldiers in war zones. Truly, this ordinary jar of Vaseline® Jelly has played a humble role in an extraordinary range of circumstances. Now we’re taking it even further. Our ambition is to help heal the skin of 5 million people living in poverty or emergency situations by 2020.
Think about that the next time you use Vaseline to polish your knobs. I'm looking at you, Jeremy Duncan, our man, Rick, Todd, Bob, and all the rest of you horndogs!
